Understanding Odds Formats
American (Moneyline)
Positive numbers show how much profit a $100 bet returns. Negative numbers show how much you need to bet to win $100. Standard across North American sportsbooks.
Decimal
Your total return per $1 wagered, including your stake. A decimal of 2.50 means a $10 bet returns $25 total. Common in Canada, Europe, and Australia.
Fractional
Expressed as profit/stake. Odds of 5/2 mean you win $5 for every $2 wagered, plus your stake back. Traditional format in UK betting.
Implied Probability
The percentage chance of an outcome as reflected by the odds. Useful for comparing your own assessment of probability against the market price.
